Radiant Diamond Profile: Melissa, Senior Living Director

Radiant Senior Living’s Mission Statement Recognition program highlights employees for their efforts and commitments in contributing to the common goal of the Radiant Senior Living mission. Team members at all Radiant communities earn points each month. There are four Radiant Jewel awards given as milestones of achievement. The Radiant Diamonds award recipients have earned over 2,400 points. As part of a series, we will be featuring profiles of our Radiant Diamond winners.

Meet Melissa, from Farmington Square in Gresham, Oregon

Melissa F. boasts an inspiring 16-year journey in senior living at Radiant Senior Living. Starting in 2007 as a caregiver on night shifts, she has evolved through various roles and locations throughout her exemplary career such as a Med Tech, Wellness Coordinator, Wellness Director, and Executive Director, Community Sales Director, and Assistant Executive Director. 

Gresham holds a special place in Melissa's heart as her home. The community's cohesive spirit, where coworkers unite for the welfare of residents, stands out to Melissa. She shared with us that her favorite thing about working in her community is knowing that Radiant “stands for something. Yes, we’re a business, but we keep the human focus. Residents come first.” Melissa takes a lot of pride in her team, sharing that her coworkers “come together for resident care always.”

Beyond her career, Melissa finds joy in her family life, consisting of five children and seven grandchildren. She also takes immense pride in her close relationship with her brother and his children. Her role as a coach in softball, coupled with her passion for baseball, reflects her involvement in the community beyond her work. Her children all share that passion as well, having played sports for Sandy High School. Melissa shared with us that her relationship with her family is “what I’m most proud of.”

Melissa's energy, resilience, and genuine care for others are the defining traits that enable her to thrive in the fulfilling world of senior living. Her commitment to the well-being of residents and her deep connections within her family make her an asset to both her community and her loved ones.
